Pam White works closely with students and their families, guiding them throughout the college process.

Two counseling options are available:

 

 

Introductory Consultation

  • Get acquainted
  • Review student’s transcript and standardized test scores
  • Advise on future course selection
  • Discuss admissions timeline, including standardized test schedule
  • Assess student’s sports and extra-curricular activities
  • Recommend summer activities
  • Clarify student’s educational goals

 

 
 

Continuous Counseling

  • Introductory Consultation
  • Provide on-going guidance and support to student and family throughout the college admission process
  • Promote student’s self-advocacy and critical thinking skills
  • Administer an interests and career assessment (optional)
  • Discuss possible majors
  • Recommend sources for researching schools
  • Create an evolving list of possible colleges based on student’s academic, social and geographic preferences, along with cumulative GPA and standardized test scores
  • Explore options for standardized test preparation
  • Prepare for campus visits and interviews, including a mock interview
  • Develop an activities list/resume
  • Brainstorm essay topics and short-answer responses
  • Critique essay and short-answer responses
  • Consider options for personal and academic recommendation letters
  • Finalize the college list, including reaches, targets, and favorables
  • Review completed applications
  • Assist in filing financial aid/scholarship forms
  • Evaluate college acceptances and assist in final enrollment choice
  • Continue contact through student’s first year of college
